Emergency Vehicle Winching and Recovery Program (Classroom) Duration: 3 hrs in length Cost: Call for proposal Equipment needed: Your apparatus for display purposes, paper and pen
Students are introduced to the fundamentals of proper and safe ways to successfully complete a hurried recovery. A main portion of this program will focus on modern ways of rigging vehicles, understanding mechanical advantage and the ever important internal components of a winch. Working models will be presented and used as well as broken parts collected from incorrect winching and recovery situations. The course concludes with a walk-around session of your apparatus and corresponding equipment.

In 2005
Leonard Motorsports started teaching a new session of the winching
program involving not only a winch, but the ever popular Hi-Lift jack. We
recommend having both programs due to the fact that most agencies have a jack
and not idea how to utilize it or be able to name the parts on it. Jacks
can be used for more than jacking up an object, they are used for winching and
vehicle extrication as well. The program is inexpensive and a lot of fun!
